The "Goldman Standard" is just code for looking over your shoulder until HR kills your badge

I’m tired of the "One Goldman Sachs" branding. It’s a polite mask for a firm that treats human capital like a high-frequency trading algorithm—liquidated the second the volatility profile looks slightly inconvenient. I walked into 200 West this morning, looked at the empty desk next to me, and realized we’re not bankers anymore; we’re just placeholders waiting for the next "strategic recalibration." Leadership loves to preach about "long-term value" and "partnership culture," but how is that possible when the talent pipeline is treated like a recurring cost to be slashed every fiscal quarter to juice the EPS? The VP level is currently a ghost town, and the Associates are just sprinting toward their exit bonuses because nobody believes in the longevity of their seat. We aren’t building a career; we’re playing a game of musical chairs where the music stops whenever the stock price needs a cosmetic boost. Stop selling us the legacy, Solomon. It’s rotting.
