I spent three hours yesterday trying to figure out which VP of Product actually owns the roadmap for the regional integration project. I’m caught in this weird feedback loop where the "Matrix" is just a polite word for "no one is responsible for anything." I have four different managers—one for my functional team, one for the regional project, one for the local ops cluster, and some dotted-line shadow lead who keeps overriding my priorities. Every time I make a move, I step on a hidden wire. I’m constantly looking over my shoulder, terrified that I’m ticking off a stakeholder I didn’t even know existed. Is this the new normal? I feel like I’m just waiting for the next reorg to delete my role entirely. I don't want to be a "high-performing contributor" in a system that thrives on making sure nobody can ever actually get a straight answer. How are you guys surviving the crosstalk without losing your minds? I’m genuinely scared I’m becoming invisible here.
